Summary
Take a boat ride on the Lost Sea, a unique natural wonder which is listed as "America's Largest Underground Lake" in the Guinness Book of World Records. Lost Sea has been designated a Registered Natural Landmark by the U.S. Dept. of Interior.
America's largest underground lake, located in beautiful Sweetwater, Tennessee. We are open every day of the year for tours (except Christmas Day). Be sure to bring your camera and be prepared for an unforgettable experience!
Throughout the early history there were consistent rumors of a large underground lake somewhere deep within the cave, but it was not actually discovered until 1905. In that year a 13-year-old boy named Ben Sands wiggled through the tiny, muddy opening 300 feet underground and found himself in a huge room half filled with water. The room was so large that his light was swallowed up by the darkness long before reaching the far wall or the ceiling. For the rest of his life Sands delighted in describing how he threw mudballs as far as he could into the blackness and heard nothing but splashes in every direction.

Change Fee Policy: If changes are allowed on a tour or activity, a $20.00 per reservation change fee will be applied for any change to a reservation. Please note that some tours and activities do not allow any changes. Date changes can only be made only if we can confirm availability on the new date. While we cannot guarantee any changes can be made, all change requests must be submitted a minimum of 24 hours prior to the tour departure and must be handled on an individual basis through our Reservations Center.
